HEATHER'S STORY

A Life Lost Too Soon

Heather Elise Harris, born on March 4, 1989, was a strong, determined, and deeply compassionate woman. She loved fiercely and longed for that love to be returned. Tragically, on September 25, 2024, Heather’s life was cut short when she was fatally shot by her boyfriend.

Her story should not be forgotten, and her legacy must inspire change. If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, don’t wait—reach out. Call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-7233 or text BEGIN to 88788. It’s too late to save Heather, but it’s not too late to save yourself or someone you love.

We urge you to take action: contact your state representatives to demand tougher penalties for domestic abusers, improved law enforcement training for handling domestic violence cases, and more accessible protective measures for victims.

You can also make a difference by getting involved locally. Donate to or volunteer at women’s shelters, and join community groups advocating for change. Every effort counts.

Additionally, consider donating to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV) to support their critical work in preventing domestic violence and helping survivors. Visit ncadv.org to learn more and contribute.

Believe victims. Protect them. Help turn victims into survivors. Together, we can make a difference. #JusticeForHeather
